The event, which marked the climax of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Emblem Appeal Fund, was attended by several government officials, heads of security agencies, traditional rulers, members of the state branch of the Nigeria Legion and family members of the fallen heroes.
Speaking shortly after the event, Buni paid glowing tribute to the fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in the fight against insurgency in the north east.

The governor, however, charged the troops to show more patriotism and nationalism to sustain the peace currently enjoyed in the state.
