Kano Govt vows to ensure proper utilization of facilities meant for public use

Kano State Government says it will ensure proper use of Parks and Gardens designed for public use within the government and private layouts to avoid encroachment and diversion.

The state commissioner of land and regional planning, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kibiya disclosed this when he received Director General kano state urban beautification and landscaping agency, Architect Yusif Danjuma Zarewa who called on him.

The commissioner, who expressed dismay over the habit of enchorochment and diversion of facilities meant for public purposes to individual use in some government layouts.

He pointed out that the state government will hand over facilities designed in it’s layouts to the appropriate authorities to avoid future enchorochment and diversion.

The commissioner promised to ensure all facilities are being utilize in accordance with what they have been planned for. Added that the state government will not condone such act of enchorochment and diversion of public facilities any more.

Earlier, the Director General of Kano State Urban Beatification and Landscaping Agency, Architect Yusif Danjuma Zarewa said they were at the ministry to congratulate the commissioner and also to lay a complain over the mass enchorochment and diversion of recreational facilities within the government layouts and find ways to avoid future occurrences.
