The Aminu magashi Foundation (AMG) has promised to launch Annual Heroic Award to deserving 5 Police Divisions, 3 Area Commands and 2 Tactical Units totaling 10 awards per year, with the aim of ensuring adequate peace and stability In the state.
Chairman of the foundation Dr Aminu Garba Magashi Stated this during the closing ceremony of the maiden Community Policing Friendly Football Games, organized by the Kano state Police Command, in conjunction with the Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS),Held at Sani Abacha Stadium Kano.
AMG also vow to provide all the necessary logistic and support in ensuring registration of YOSPIS Football Team, which will be participating actively in football leagues across the state and the nation at large.

“AMG Foundation will support the registration of the Kano Youth Yearning for Return of Sustainable Peace (Repentant thugs) as well as support 10 out of the 100 to support them for apprenticeship to learn a trade”
Dr Aminu Garba Magashi maintained that AMG would relent in rendering Humanitarian services to the public , with the aim of Boosring peaceful coexistence in the state.
In her address the Executive Director of
Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) Zainab Nasir said the objective of organizing the friendly football games was to build cordial relationships between the repentant criminals and the security for enhancing peaceful coexistence.
She noted that YOSPIS will redouble efforts in coming up with laudable initiatives that will uplift the well being of youths in the state.
Earlier , the commissioner of Police, Mr.Mohammed Usaini Gumel, said the event was for the overall aim of fostering peace and unity in the state.
He recalled that when he assumed duty, there were rampant cases of armed robbery, phone snatching and other violent crimes in the state.
According to him, creating synergy among stakeholders such as the judiciary, the media, traditional rulers, NGOs, religious leaders, Kannywood, bsister security agencies, among others helped the police to curb criminal activities in the state.
CP Gumel who presented 100 repentant criminals to Governor Yusuf for rehabilitation and empowerment, urged the society not to stigmatize the repentant criminals as they have promised never to go back to crime again.
CP Gumel, however, placed a bounty of N500, 000 on the two notorious criminals still at large, vowing that the police will do everything possible to bring them to justice
