APC rejects Kano Gubernatorial election results

The announcement of the concluded gubernatorial elections in Kano state has been rejected by the All Progressive Congress.
At a press briefing on Tuesday at the APC Gubernatorial campaign office in Kano, the party’s Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, stated that the election was supposed to have been declared inconclusive according to the Electoral Act, as the number of cancelled votes exceeded the margin between the first and second parties of NNPP and APC respectively.
The party’s Legal Adviser, Barrister Abdul Adamu Fagge, spoke on behalf of the Chairman, appealing to INEC Headquarters to reverse their decision and declare the election inconclusive.
The party’s gubernatorial candidate in the just-concluded elections, Alhaji Naisru Yusif Gawuna, supported the party’s decision and noted that the election was expected to be declared inconclusive due to the high number of cancelled votes.
He urged the party supporters to remain law-abiding as they seek to restore their mandates through legal means.
