Deploy More Security For Supplementary Election in Kebbi: PDP urges President Buhari

Peoples Democratic Party in Kebbi State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the heads of all security agencies to deploy more security agents to the state for the April 15, supplementary elections.
While briefing journalists at the party’s secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, the director general for PDP’s governorship campaign, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu said the call to the president Buhari and heads of all security agencies for more deployment of security operatives for the supplementary election in the state became necessary in the face of the intimidation, percecution members and supporters of PDP are going through in the hands of the ruling APC administration in the state.
He said “As I address you, over 30 PDP members are in correctional centre in Birnin Kebbi. Some district heads perceived to be supporting our party have been suspended. Some civil servants are being denied their salaries because they voted PDP in last elections.
“This is the situation we found ourselves in the state because of the fear that our governorship candidate, Aminu Bande is more popular and people are ready to vote for him in the election”.
He added that the PDP is ready for the supplementary elections in the state under a peaceful atmosphere. “This is why we lmplore on Mr President and heads of security agencies at the national levels to Wade in the percecution PDP is subjected to by the ruling APC administration”, he said.
The party also solicited from INEC to reorder election in Ngaski to allow PDP’s candidate participate. “If the supplementary election is allowed to be conducted under peaceful atmosphere PDP will win. They are afraid of this that’s why they have resorted to intimidating our supporters,” the party DG campaign said.
He urges on security agencies and INEC to be neutral in the supplementary elections. “We need the attention of all security agents in kebbi State for the April 15 elections”, he said.
Responding, APC public relations officer, Alhaji Isa Assalafi dispelled the alleged percecution of PDP members by the APC led government. “There was nothing like that. In fact, we are hearing this for the first time. I think their allegations are borne out of their incapable at the polls”, he said.
