Dignitaries Gather in Kano to Celebrate Deputy Senate President’s Son’s Wedding

In a grand celebration of love and unity, Kano state witnessed a convergence of esteemed individuals as Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, along with other prominent figures, graced the wedding of Abdullahi, the son of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and Bilkisu, the daughter of Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aliyu Sani Madaki.

Kano state Governor Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf hosted the event, with the delegation being warmly welcomed by Kano state Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam on behalf of the governor at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Kano state, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu.

The celebration then moved to the Sheikh Isyaka Rabiu Mosque in Goron Dutse, where the long-awaited wedding took place shortly after the Jumu’ah Prayer at approximately 2:30 pm. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Sheikh Abdullahi Mahmud Sarda.

Following Islamic traditions, Bilkisu’s dowry of N500,000 was paid as a bride price to Tajudeen Aliyu Madaki to formalize the union.

The event was graced by a diverse array of guests from various backgrounds, both within the country and abroad. Prominent political figures and government officials, including President of the Senate Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, were among the attendees.

Also present were distinguished personalities like presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi, as well as Governors Dikko Radda of Katsina State, Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, and Umar Namadi Danmodi of Jigawa state.

The celebration saw a remarkable gathering of influential figures, including business magnates Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Alhaji Aminu Dantata, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, and clerics.

The festivities extended with a reception hosted by the state government at the Kano state government house, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared joy among all the attendees.
