Dr. Kofarmata, an Icon of Societal Development– Community Elders

As the newly-appointed Commissioners are about to mark 30 days in office after their appointment by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, individuals, groups and organizations continue to troop in to pay a solidarity visit to the office of Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofarmata.

Recently, the community of Kofarmata Lungu has paid a courtesy call to him over his appointment as Commissioner for Higher Education in the state.

Speaking separately on behalf of the community, the ward head of Kofarmata and an elder, Jibril Mohammed and Harazumi Isa, respectively, thanked the State Governor for chosen their illustrious son and appointed him as a Commissioner, a decision which they discribed as unprecedented.

The two community leaders then discribed Dr. Yusuf as an “Icon,” not only to his immediate community, but to the State in general, in view of his tremendous contributions to the development of people, especially youth, in the areas of education, healthcare and general welfare.

The representatives of the community then pledged to continue giving their unflinching support to the present administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the betterment of the state. They implored all and sundry to compliment the government’s efforts in order to achieve the optimum result.

Responding, the Hon. Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofarmata expressed his delight for the visit and assured them that he will justify the confidence bestowed on him and appealed for their supplication at all times.

Dr. Kofarmata also urged youth in the area to be law abiding and disciplined. He called on them to expand their horizon so as to become useful to themselves, to the community and the State at large.

Similarly, the Commissioner has received executive members of Kano State Tertiary Institutions Forum, led by Dr. Mansir Rufa’i, Pro-chancellor of SKYLINE University, and Kwankwasiyya Youth Development Association, Tudun Wuzirchi chapter, led by the chairman of the association, Alhaji Muhammad Sani.
