Four of the 11 Students of FGC Birnin Yauri that was kidnapped by bandits in Kebbi State have been released and now regained their freedom.

The kidnapped students and now were released are Faiza Ahmed , Hafsa Murtala, Bilhah Musa and Rahma Abdullahi. Seven are still with the bandits.

While briefing newsmsn in Birnin Kebbi with the regards to release of four on Saturday, chairman of parents committee of the abducted school girls, Alhaji Salim Kaoje said the four girls were released on Friday around 4:30pm. He said they arrived Yauri around 2:30am on Saturday and were immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Statistics have showed that 96 of the FGC Birnin Yauri students in kebbi State were kidnapped by kidnappers when the school was on session on 17, June 2021, closed to two years now.

According to Salim Kaoje said some of the parents are still in the bush discussing with the kidnappers on the release of the remaining students that are still been held in their custody.

He however, said “We have been in line with the kidnappers for the past three months. We sold our landed properties and got donations from individuals to raise the money demanded by those kidnappers.

He appeal to government to intervene and help to secure the remain seven students that are still been held by the bandits.

He said “We have done all we could do to secure some of the children government should be involved and assist us to secure the release of the remain seven of them that are still in custody”.

While Speaking, a mother whose daughter was one of those that were lucky to be released, Mrs Serah Musa said it had been a terrible experience for her and other parents for almost two years without seeing their children.

“I have not slept in almost two years. I’m thinking about my daughter in the hands of the kidnappers. It was a terrible experience for us as parents whose children were kidnapped.

“Some of the parents have already died. It be a miracle that when the children are released some of them will come back to see that their mothers are dead and some of their fathers are dead because of the trauma of their abductions” , she said.

As well , Munira Bala and Malam Alhassan Yusuf Libata were full of Thanking Almighty God for the release of their children. Since our daughters was kidnapped we are in terrible situation untill now when four out of eleven are released.

“As i speak to you, I can only tell you that an happy and not happy because seven of the children are still with the kidnappers. We want government to assist us in securing them from hands of kidnappers,” parents lamented.
