Girl-Child Education: Kebbi Governor’s Wife Solicits Traditional Rulers’ Support

Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris has solicited traditional rulers in the state to support Girls-Child education programs initiated under her own watch to ensure success of the said Initiative a cross the 21 LGAS of the State.

Her Excellency, Solicited support when she paid a courtesy visit to Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar and Chairman Kebbi State Council of Chief at Abdullahi Fodio palace in Birnin Kebbi.

She explained to the royal father that under the present administration of her husband, Dr Nasiru Idris, she is set to prioritize education, specifically focusing on empowering the Girls-Child education. Adding that as wife of the Governor and with her experiences of girls child education advocator it will enable her to advocate for some education policies, launch initiatives, and engaged communities to ensure every girls child in State has access to quality education, fostering social progress and gender equality.

While describing the role of traditional rulers who are fathers to all in any administration as critical in governance, there is need for traditional rulers and the entire people of the state to support this important intiatives of girls child education.

In his response, the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Iliyasu Bashar assumed the wife of the governor for all the traditional rulers maximum support to the girls child education initiatives for both youth girls and boys across the state.

adding that her aims and objectives towards assisting girls child education programs is a welcome idea and your appealed will get across other Emirates Godwilling. However, at Emirate level we will preach for girls child education to all district heads, village heads, ward heads and among other to ensure total support and compliance within their localities and villages under their control. The emir described education of children of both gender as bedrock of every society, he than appreciates her Excellency and the entourage for the visit to his palace and wish her Allah’s guidance.

The governor’s wife was accompanied by wives of local government chairmen, councillors and other government officials such as permanent Secretary ministry of women Affairs and social Development, Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Maikurata.
