Gov Namadi laments lackadaisical attitudes of Jigawa hospitals staffs

The Jigawa state governor, Mallam Umar Namadi expressed dismay over the deplorable condition of some general hospital in Jigawa stste.
The dissatisfaction was contained in a statement issued to news men, said the governor disclosed this when he paid unschedule visit to Dutse General Hospital, on Monday.
Governor Namadi who was not happy with the deplorable condition of some sections in the hospital, observed there was no light as both staff and patients were sitting in the dark while in some patient wards, there were no window nets to prevent mosquitoes.
This is contained in a statement by the Governor’s chief press secretary Hamisu Muhammad Gumel
According to the statement, the governor was particularly upset to find out that patients even under-five years have to buy drugs in the hospital contrary to the state Government’s policy of free healthcare to under five year old children in the state.
According to the statement 70% of the patients interviewed by the Governor said they bought drugs and were not given bedsheets.
He frowned at the lackadaisical attitude of the hospital’s management, saying, “This is tantamount to sabotage.”
Governor Namadi then warned that his government would not condone such behavior.
