Suspected jihadist extremist have killed at least 10 people in an attack on a gold mine in northern Burkina Faso.
A security source said workers at the Tondobi gold mine near the Niger border were attacked on Thursday.
A local resident told the AFP news agency in an interview via telephone, said that the death toll had risen to 14 after more deaths were reported.
He added six people that were earlier reported missing as a result of the attack have returned early Friday morning.
More than 2,000 people have died and 1.7 million more have been displaced by terrorist attacks in Burkina Faso since 2015, according to estimates by the AFP news agency.
