JUST IN: Kano Governor Dismisses Commissioner Over Controversial Remarks Against Judges

In a swift and decisive action, the Governor of Kano State, today, announced the dismissal of the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, following an unguarded statement made by the Commissioner ,The State Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye while addressing the Press . Additionally, said the Governor’s Adviser on Youth Affairs, Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye, has also been removed from his position.

The decision to remove Commissioner Kibiya and Adviser Boye came in response to a statement made by Commissioner Kibiya, which was deemed as offensive and inappropriate, especially in the context of the state’s relationship with the judiciary.

The controversy arose when Commissioner of Land and physical planning Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, during a public event, made remarks that were perceived as an attack on the integrity of the judiciary and judges in the state.

His comments drew widespread condemnation from various quarters, including legal professionals, civil society organizations, and the general public.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf , who is known for upholding the rule of law and maintaining a high level of respect for the judiciary, took immediate action to address the situation. In a statement released by his office, the Governor stated that such remarks against the judiciary were unacceptable and could not be tolerated.

The Governor emphasized that the judiciary plays a critical role in upholding justice and the rule of law in the state, and any attempts to undermine its independence and impartiality would not be tolerated
