Kano Peace Cup: SWAN present gifts to best performing teams, as Oba Alimi promises more support

Sports writers association of Nigeria (SWAN) has expressed satisfaction over the good performance of football clubs participating in 1st Kano Inter Community Football Peace Cup competition.
Secretary of the association Mr Abdulgafar Oladimeji made the remarks at the distribution of supporting materials to best performing teams held at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
‘We make some promises to you about rewarding for best performing, this is one of the gestures, and more will follow.
Mr Oladimeji commended the teams for their conduct in the ongoing Inter community peace cup, urging them to sustain the tempo throughout the competition.
The competition Which is sponsored by Oba Yoruba of Kano Dr Murtala Alimi Otusi and BETWGB is aimed at hunting young talents and create avenue for better football future of Kano and Nigeria at large.
‘Another important reason for the competition is building peace among different tribes and communities, and the present administration in Kano need to initiate programs that will enhance supporting accivities especially football”
On his part, Oba Yoruba of Kano Dr Murtala Alimi Otutsese expressing commitment towards supporting football clubs in order to promote peace and unity in the country.
He promised to provide cup for the final and that of the best player just to encourage and motivate youth in football for the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
Oba Alimi Otusese also revealed his plan to engage stakeholders for brainstorming on how to provide training opportunities for clubs technical officers in the state..
He commended Abdulgafar Oladimeji for his tireless efforts towards boosting promoting sports and encouraging youth.
Items distributed to the teams include T-shirts, callenders and other materials.
