Kebbi Election Tribunal commences hearing of petitions

Kebbi State national and state assembly election petition tribunal have commenced hearing of petitions filed before the tribunal on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
The sitting commenced with suit No: EPT/BK/HR/02/ 2023 that Muhammad Bala Usman challenging the election outcome of Yauri/ Shanga and Ngaski federal constituency at the said tribunal.
While the petition indicates that Muhammad Bala Usman, people’s Democratic party (PDP) are the petitioners and than Hon. Yusuf Tanko Sununu as first respondant, All progress Congress (APC) as second respondant and than Independent Electoral commission (INEC) as third respondant in the petition.
Counsel’s to the petitioners, Barrister Chief Magnus Ihejirika confirmed to tribunal that their petition is matured since processes has been exchanged meaning issues are now joined, so they are ready to go on with the matter. Counsel to first respondant Barrister Hussaini Zakariya SAN, Second respondant counsel Barrister Buhari Shehu and third respondant counsel Barrister M H. Hassan have all confirmed to tribunal that issues are now joins.
The tribunal under the chairmanship of Honourable Justice Margret Opara adjourned the matter to Friday 28 April for continuation of hearing following an application moved by the petitioners counsel Barrister chief Magnus Ihejirika to put their house in order, and both counsel’s of firs, second and third respondants have no objection to the application moved by the petitioners counsel’s seeking for a short adjournment.
