Kebbi Police restratagizes towards providing adequate security for a hitch-free guber election

The Kebbi State Police Command says it is replanning towards providing adequate security for a hitch-free gubernatorial and state assembly elections across the state.
CP Ahmed Magaji-Kontagora, Commissioner of Police in the state made the disclosure during a stakeholders meeting held at the command’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
Our correspondent reports that the meeting, which was organised by the command to primarily bring together political stakeholders together drew representatives from different political parties in the state and the traditional institution.
The CP said the purpose of the meeting was to review the general conduct of electorate during the presidential and national assembly elections and fashion out ways on how to ensure peaceful, successful and hitch-free guber elections.
“We are not here to fight but we gathered here to interact and brainstorm on how to facilitate peaceful, hitch-free, successful and acceptable elections in the forthcoming gub,” he noted.
While appreciating residents of Kebbi for coming out to exercise their franchise in an orderly manner during the recent elections, Magaji-Kontagora appealed to them to sustain the tempo, support and cooperate with the security agencies to enable them discharge their statutory duties diligently.
He tasked parents and political stakeholders to caution their sons, daughters and party loyalists against thuggery, misconduct and anything that may lead to breach of peace before, during and after the elections.
The CP promised people of the state of readiness of the security agencies to provide adequate security during and after the election period.
