Kano Pillars to pay huge fine after fans attack on Katsina United

The Nigerian Premier League (LMC) has fined Kano Pillars football Club ₦9 million, for breaching the rules and regulations of the tournament, following fans attack on visiting Katsina United.

Pillars will be relegated by three points from their nine points this season, and if the club commits a similar crime in the future, it will face a deduction of three more points.

Another disciplinary action against the ‘Sai Masu Gida’ is that from now on, the club will be playing its home games at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

The Sani Abacha Stadium situated at ‘Kofar Mata’ in Kano, has also been banned from hosting all Nigerian Premier League matches until further notice.

Kano Pillars will also repair Katsina United’s bus damaged by Kano Pillars fans after Saturday’s match, which was suspended for 90 minutes following a stand-off by some supporters in Kano.
