Meet Hon. Musa Adamu Funtua, Commissioner Nominee from Katsina State

Hon. Musa Adamu Funtua was born on 29th March 1971 in Funtua Local Government of Katsina State. He has a degree in History and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria respectively.

Hon. Funtua has a versatile working experience in both the public and private sectors. He worked with Presidency National Poverty Eradication Programme [NAPEP] as Local Government Coordinator, at Funtua Local Government.

Between 29th May 2003 to 29th May 2007, he served as the Honorable Member, of Katsina State House of Assembly representing Funtua Local Government and Chairman House Committee on Commerce and Industries. He was later appointed as the Commissioner Ministry for Rural, Social Development, Youth and Sports Katsina State from 2007 – 2009 by the then Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema. Later on, Hon. Musa Adamu was appointed as the pioneer Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Katsina State from January 2009 to May 2011.

His meteoric rise also saw him appointed as the Commissioner for the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Katsina State in 2011 and voluntarily resigned on the 17th of October 2014 to resume his position in the private sector as the Chairman / Managing Director of MAF Merchants and Gen. Services Ltd from October 2014 to November 2019.

He served under the administration of the immediate past governor of Katsina State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari as the Honorable Commissioner of Water Resources. He obtained various training and leadership certificates in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and many more.
