PRP Kano Gubernatorial Candidate, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, has accused the ruling APC Governors as the main culprits of vote buying in the country.

Yakasai who spoke on Friday in Kano stated that the redesigned naira notes and currency swap policy by president Muhammadu Buhari is majority targeted at his own APC Governors.

He said, the current attack on CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele and those called the ‘cabals’ in the presidency by the APC governors, is an indication that they are feeling the brunt of the Policy already.

Tanko added that although the timing for the implementation of the policy was wrong, the policy is achieving it’s aim as some of the governors are already cancelling their rallies like Kano and Lagos where the APC government have ran out of cash to mobilize and induce the public.

“Those attacking Emefiele on the naira redesign and currency swap especially, the APC governors are just beating around the bush”.

“The President, through the new electoral Act has succeeded in curtailing every form of vote buying and electoral irregularities, that is why they have become so uncomfortable”.

“They are only afraid to come out to attack the president hence, the attack on Emefiele”.

“Going by cases of Osun and Ekiti states, the president has solved the issue of vote buying, over voting and the rest, even the APC presidential candidate, has cancelled his Kano campaign due to this police”.

However, Salihu, said the APC led government took the poor masses of Nigeria for granted for 8 years as such have succeeded in shooting themselves in the foot and have lost every chances of winning the forthcoming elections even if the current naira policy is revered.

“They took the people for granted for 8 years and destroyed all their chances of winning elections through ill conceived polices. Even if they cancel this police that has caused untold hardship on us all, they can’t win these elections”, he added.
