NPC Meets Media Executives, Assure Nigerians Of A Successful census Exercise

The National Population Commission (NPC) says it’s staff as well as adhoc recruited for 2023 population and Housing census are fully ready for the exercise.

The Chairman, National Population Commission Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwarra disclose this during a breakfast meeting with Media Executives on the preparation to the 2023 Population and Housing Census organized by the commission in Kano.

Kwarra, represented by the federal commissioner NPC Kano Dr Isma’I” Lawal Suleiman said the objectives of the interactive session with the media executives was to update them on the status of preparations for 2023 census, and the next steps forward in the light of the postponement of the census.

He said the commissioned welcomed federal government’s decision of the postponement of the population census which was aimed at giving this administration the opportunity to further perfect the processes.

Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwarra maintained that the commission has carried out all the preparatory activities hence efforts were being made in ensuring that the conduct of the population census achieved maximum success.

” this will ensure that the nation does not have to start afresh the conduct of the census thereby saving costs”

” The process and systems put in place for the census are therefore being currently reviewed to determined what needs to be done to ensure that the preparations do not become obsolete for the census”

In his remark State Director NPC Kano office Alhaji Ismaila Alhassan Dogo said the meeting would pave way for media executives to have a clear understanding of the status of the Population census.

In the aspect of enlightening the general population the importance of population census.

The meeting was attended by media executives and other stakeholders.
