Oba Murtala Otisese urges Journalists in Kano to prioritize promoting peace

During a Ramadan breakfast meeting with working journalists in Kano, Alhaji Muritala Alimi Otisese, the Oba of Yoruba Community in Kano, urged the people of Kano and beyond to prioritize peace efforts.

The monarch stressed that no society can progress without peace, and it is the responsibility of all to ensure that peace is maintained.

Oba Muritala Alimi Otisese also urged the working journalists to act as ambassadors of peace and to enlighten the general public on the importance of a peaceful society.

The Vice President of the National Sports Writers Association, Malikawa Garu, who led the delegation, expressed his respect for the palace of the Oba and reiterated the commitment of working journalists to promoting peace and harmony in the state.

Malikawa Garu also sought the support of the monarch in sponsoring members of SWAN and working journalists to attend professional courses that will enhance their capacity for effective service delivery.

On his part, the State Chairman of the Sports Writers Association, Comrade Zaharaddeen Saleh, presented the Oba with copies of the SWAN 2023 Calendar
