The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency -NITDA Kashifu Inuwa is a symbol of the kind of new bread of leaders that Nigeria needs at this time when the attention of the world is tilting towards the Digital economy.

The Information Technology sector provides millions of opportunities to Nigerian Youths who without the sector might be in one form of crime or the other.

My reasons behind this write-up are to encourage these youth and appreciate the effort of this man who hails from Jigawa state.

I have covered several programs organized by NITDA in collaboration with some nongovernmental organizations in Kaduna, Bauchi, and Jigawa states especially in 2021, and 2022.

The kind man I see in this leader is quite admiring.
I remember the last time I had an interview with him was in Hadejia his hometown in Jigawa state where he led a Qatar Charity Foundation an NGO that provided Housing units for the less privileged along Malam Madori Road.

The organization also empowered hundreds of women with different gadgets such as sewing and grinding machines, and water pumping machines for farmers in the area.

If this kind of youth is placed in strategic government Agencies at Federal and state levels, I am sure the development Nigerians are aspiring for will be achieved.

I want to use this opportunity to advise the Federal government under President Bola Tinubu to search for youth with Kashifu’s nature and appoint them to lead positions of strategic importance.

My second call for the President is to allocate more funds to NITDA to provide training and capacity building for Nigerian youth in ICT and new media sectors in all 36 states across the Federation to motivate them and compete with their counterparts from other African Countries like South Africa and Ghana.
