PCACC Partners Kano OGP, Moves To Strengthens Fight Against Corruption

Kano state Open Government Partnership (OGP) has reiterated commitment towards working with the state relevant agencies
in the fight against corruption.

Civil Society OGP co-chair Abdulrazaq Alkali while speaking with newsmen after a meeting with the chairman Kano state Public Complaints and anti corruption commission chairman Muhyi Magaji Timing Gado.

Abdulrazaq Alkali said the aimed of the meeting was to discuss on the issue for review of the state OGP action plan in order to reflect current administration’s policies and priorities.

He explained that the OGP team is working to strengthen government officials participation, as they are willing to move in the same direction with the state Anti corruption commission.

On his part, the chairman Anti corruption commission Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimingado expressed appreciation for the visit and pledge to work with the OGP team in the fight against all for of corruption in the state.

Muhyi Magaji expressed worries over the level of corruption in Kano urging media and civil society organizations to support the commission.

He said, the commission is now overwhelmed by cases which investigations have already commenced, and their is serious need for support.

He expressed surprised over the attitude of the officials of the past administration of converting public properties to their personal use.

Muhyi Magaji also lamented on the use of court orders to stop their investigation, assuring that, the commission will for all due process is n the discharge of it’s duties.
