Yobe LGA Lauds Care International, Pfizer For Improving Healthcare Services

Bade Local government area of Yobe state, northeast Nigeria says support provided by CARE International has played a vital role in enhancing health care service delivery to the people.
Chairman of the council lbrahim Baba Gana said the organization has support their health facilities with equipments and capacity building to health personnel,and this has go along way in uplifting the health status of the people of Bade Local government Area.

The chairman made this remarks during a meeting with the officials of CARE International and some Health personnel of Bade local government in Kano.

Alhaji Ibrahim Baba Gana expressed readiness of the council to do everything possible in ensuring that the enlightenment and support provided by CARE was sustained even after the expiration of the program.
On his part, the Emir of Bade Abubakar Suleiman has Commended the efforts of CARE International for providing health care service delivery support to the people of Bade local government area of the state.

The Emir who was represented by Bulama Umar Suleiman said the support has within the last two years increased awarenes on the importance of attending immunization for children under five and Ante – Natal care among pregnant women.
He appreciates the support of the CARE International and Pfizer for funding the entire program which lasts for over two years.
Earlier, assistant country director for programmes at CARE Nigeria Jennifer ogoh said the project was implemented in response to the high rate of infant and child mortality in Nigeria.
She said according 2019 report about one hundred and seventeen children dying out of every one thousand children born alive .
“This is among the highest child mortality in the world,that is why we sourced funding from Pfizer foundation to be able to implement this project with the aim of curtailing this challenge “
She added that the program had achieved in creating awareness ,increasing immunizations for children under five as well as targeting pregnant women,adolescent girls aimed at making sure that they are in good health and wee able to give birth to healthy children
