Kano Housing MD Re-Elected AHCN Vice President as State’s Housing Reforms Win National Acclaim
By Abdu Saidu

The Managing Director of the Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC), Alhaji Abdullahi Rabiu, has been re-elected as Vice President of the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN) for a second term, a development that has further reinforced the growing national recognition of Kano State’s housing reforms.
Rabiu was re-elected during the 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM)/114th Council Meeting of the AHCN held in Calabar, Cross River State. The meeting brought together housing administrators, policymakers, real estate professionals and other stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on strategies for improving housing delivery in Nigeria.
Sponsored by the Cross River state Government in collaboration with the Cross River State Property Development and Investment Limited (CROSPIL), the conference was held under the theme, “Affordable Housing Solutions for Low-Income Earners in Emerging Real Estate Market.” Discussions focused on practical approaches to expanding access to affordable housing and promoting sustainable real estate development.
The renewed mandate is widely regarded as a vote of confidence in Rabiu’s leadership, administrative competence and commitment to advancing the objectives of the Association. It also reflects the increasing national recognition of Kano State’s achievements in the housing sector under the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
In recent years, Kano State has made significant progress in expanding access to affordable housing, revitalising housing infrastructure and implementing people-centred policies aimed at improving residents’ quality of life. These efforts have positioned the state among Nigeria’s leading performers in public housing development.
Speaking shortly after his re-election, Rabiu expressed appreciation to members of the Association for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to continue working closely with members of the executive committee to promote innovation, strengthen collaboration among housing corporations and advance policies that will improve housing delivery across the country.
“I am deeply honoured by this renewed mandate and sincerely appreciate the confidence reposed in me by members of the Association. I remain committed to working with my colleagues to advance the objectives of the AHCN, promote innovation and strengthen collaboration among housing corporations for the benefit of Nigerians,” he said.
Rabiu dedicated the honour to the Government and people of Kano State, attributing the achievement to the visionary leadership and unwavering support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, whose administration has continued to prioritise affordable housing and infrastructure development.
He reaffirmed the Kano State Housing Corporation’s commitment to supporting the administration’s vision through the delivery of sustainable, affordable and quality housing projects that will improve the welfare of residents and contribute to the socio-economic development of the state.
The KSHC Managing Director added that his re-election would further inspire him to champion best practices in housing administration while working with other members of the Association to strengthen collaboration and expand access to decent and affordable housing for Nigerians.
