The Sub-Committee on Engagement with the Business Community under the Kano State Task Force Committee on Voter Registration Mobilisation has taken its voter enlightenment campaign to Na’ibawa Yankato Market, urging traders to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

Speaking during the engagement, the Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Alhaji Tijjani Abdullahi Sarki, called on eligible citizens to demonstrate patience and patriotism by registering and updating their voter records. He stressed that obtaining and validating Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) would enable eligible voters to exercise their constitutional right and ensure that every vote counts during elections.

Sarki explained that the exercise covers first-time registration, transfer of voting location, correction of personal information, replacement of lost or damaged voter cards, and validation of existing voter records.

The Chairman was accompanied by Alhaji Auwalu Baita Kantsi (Solar), Mallam Auwalu Ya’u Maikusa, and other members of business community.

Responding on behalf of the traders, the Chairman of the Yankato Market Chamber, Alhaji Sunusi Adamu, commended the Committee for bringing the sensitisation campaign to the market. He assured the delegation of the traders’ full support and pledged to set aside a date for a mass mobilisation of members to participate in the voter registration exercise.

Also speaking, the Secretary of the Sub-Committee, Alhaji Hassan Kofar Mata, expressed appreciation to the market leadership for the warm reception despite the impromptu nature of the visit. He thanked the traders for their cooperation and encouraged them to sustain their support for the voter registration campaign, describing their commitment as a positive contribution to strengthening civic participation and democratic governance in Kano State.
